Policy

Here you can read which rules of conduct apply to Q-dance's websites in order to keep things pleasant and accessible for everyone. Q-dance.nl, Q-dance.com & Q-dance.com.au are big sites, consisting of multiple locations where interaction is possible. Topics can be opened on the forum, you can post replies both on the forum as well as beneath pictures and messages can be sent to each other.

Misconduct can be reported by sending one of the admins or moderators a private message. This message should atleast contain a brief description of the misconduct as well as a link to the place where the misconduct was found (i.e. topic/picture/profile).

The guidelines and rules in this policy explain what behavior is appropriate and what isn’t. Every visitor of Q-dance.nl is expected to read and obey these rules.

The forum
On the forum you can discuss almost every topic. Almost everything goes: topics can be serious, funny or can contain a question. This is not a rubbish-forum however: please refrain from opening a thread without a decent topic. The forum is subdivided into several categories or subforums in order to keep things organized. Topics are to be posted in the appropriate subforum:

- Events: topics concerning the events
- Music: topics concerning tracks, dj's, producers, etc.
- Q-cafe: all other topics

Opening a topic

Before opening a topic, please make sure that there isn’t a similar topic on the forum already. Perhaps you can find the information you’re looking for in older threads. You can use the search option on the left side of the forum (beneath “zoeken in het forum”) to search for similar topics. To keep things organized, double threads will be closed.

Topic title

Please use a topictitle that corresponds with the content of your thread. Please use a clear and understandable topictitle, so that people know what they can expect when opening your thread. This will keep the forum transparent and organized. Please refrain from using unnecessary exclamations or capitals: people will see your topic anyway, using unnecessary exclamations or capitals will only annoy people.

Subforums:

Please use the appropriate subforum to post your topic.

Personal topics

Personal topics are not allowed. If you want to say something personal to a certain person, please send him/her a private message. This is more efficient and you don’t trouble other people that way.

Responding in a topic:

Please make sure you stay on topic when posting in a thread. Of course a discussion may shift sometimes, but going offtopic should be kept to a minimum. Posts in a thread should correspond with the topic as much as possible.

Requests for closing a topic

To keep the forum organized and transparent there are several admins and moderators. They have the ability to close topics, remove topics, modify posts and remove posts. Since they are not 24/7 online, they will not always see everything that is going on at Q-dance.nl. If you come across a topic or post which you find to be pointless or offensive, you can send a private message to one of the admins or moderators or you can click on the exclamation-sign (on the upper right of every post) and fill in the report. This is the most efficient and approriate way of putting in a complaint. Please refrain from complaining in the thread itself, since this may well lead to conflict situations.

Fields of interest

Due to the fact that Q-dance has a lot of registered members, people’s fields of interest are bound to differ from one another. We therefore ask you to respect eachother and eachother’s fields of interest. Please do not post in topics that do not interest you. If you find a certain topic to be useless, please do not respond in the thread: you can file a complaint by sending a private message to a moderator or admin or by clicking on the exclamation-sign on the upper right of each post.

Complaining about a thread in the thread itself or insulting someone because you do not agree with his/her topic (due to other interests) will not be tolerated: it may result in a warning or even a (temporary) ban. Other offensive kind of posts, such as racism or offensive images, will not be tolerated either. Please treat others the same way you want to be treated.

Pictures

You can find partypictures of each Q-dance event on this website. You can also place your name under a picture and leave a comment beneath a picture. We ask you to respect eachother: neither insults nor flaming will be tolerated.

If you want to place your name under a picture you can click on “tag me”. If you’re on one of the pictures and would like to have it removed, you can click on your name under the picture, and than delete.

Private messaging

By clicking on the little envelope(-sign) in someone’s profile or on the upper right of someone’s post you can send a private message to this person. Private messages are only visible to the person you’ve sent it to: they are not visible to anyone else, not even to Q-dance. Where applicable, the same rules apply to private messages as apply to the rest of the website. We ask you to treat others with respect. Flaming and other disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in a warning or a ban. Harassment by private messaging will be investigated.

Q-dance reserves the right to close or delete topics/threads, modify or delete messages, modify or delete userprofiles and to warn or ban users in case of:

• Direct linking to or arranging the exchange of: mp3’s (rips) from cd’s, dvd’s or livesets (copyrighted material) etc, as well as other warez (illegal content). Requests for such items are not allowed either.

• Spamming: i.e. advertising for (your own) services, websites, your own (party)events, recruiting/soliciting, using referrals in a url or other kinds of spam. This also includes linking to sites where you can win money, credits or products.

• Racism, discrimination or instigation of xenophobia in any way.

• Pornographic material.

• Side-issues concerning football/soccer: i.e. hooliganism/rioting etc.

• Sending unwanted private-messages to users, such as advertisements.

• (Private) conflicts between users: private conflicts should be resolved in private, not on this website.

• Posting private messages: do not post private messages without the author’s permission.

• Intentionally offensive/insulting posts or topics/threads. Flaming, cursing, threats and other inappropriate language are not allowed.

• Attacking new members, for instance when they have different interests or when they make mistakes. They will need time to adapt to the rules of this website. Instead of cursing at them, try to help them.

• Dealing drugs in any way.

• Illegal ticket sales: if you want to sell your ticket you can only do so for a normal/reasonable price. Ticket prices may only be raised by a reasonable amount to cover for expenses. When selling your ticket on the forum you must mention the price you’re asking. Buying tickets from other users is at your own risk, Q-dance is not responsible for the authenticity of these tickets.

• (Deliberately) going off-topic in a thread: please make sure your posts correspond with the topic as much as possible.

• Disrespectful behaviour towards people that speak other languages. Although the official languages to be used on this website are dutch and english, we do respect the fact that not everyone is able to speak these languages. We ask you to respect this as well. Only respond in a thread/topic or to a post if you’ve got something useful to say.

• Cloning: users are only allowed to have 1 account. Clones will be banned.

• Abusive double posting: your post will be read, please refrain from flooding the forum with your posts

• Reposting threads or posts that violate the rules of this website. Do not repost a thread or post that has been deleted or modified by an admin or a moderator.

Warnings and bans

• If a user violates the code of conduct/policy or misbehaves in any other way, he or she may receive a (final) warning or be banned from this website.

• After repeated warnings a user can be banned as well

• If a user intentionally spams in topics/threads or private messages, he or she can get a warning or a (temporary) ban.

• If a user intentionally tries to exploit other users’ computers (i.e. by using bugs, worms, trojans etc), he or she can be banned

• The admins and moderators of Q-dance determine which duration of the ban they seem fit. The minimum duration is 24 hours.

• After repeated misconduct or in case of severe misconduct a ban can be permanent.

• If a user uses clones while their account is temporarily banned, he or she will receive a permanent ban.

• If a user is banned, we reserve the right to inform the user’s ISP of his or her misconduct.

These rules are here to provide guidance for our users. They can be changed at any time. In border-line cases the admins and moderators make their own judgement about the appropriateness of certain behaviour.

If you have any further questions concerning the policy or the website itself, feel free to send a private message to one of the admins or moderators.
